The
Mourning After came into being in early 2003, when North London
schoolmates Rob Behar, Mark Driver, Edan Feldman-Vazan and Sam Roth began
playing together in the music room of a local youth club. With entirely
different musical tastes, each band member brought to the table a broad
array of musical influences. Despite still being 14 and 15, the band began
dedicating time to create their own unique sound in the local, sweaty rehearsal
studio, bringing them an ability to write and perform from this young age. Over the last four years, The Mourning After have played close to 200 shows at over 20 different cities, recorded 5 demos and grown a serious thirst for success, and still at such a young age. As a band we aim to create music that simply touches people, rather than following any specific genre' the boys say. With this outlook on their music, along with an attitude that embraces all creativity from each of the band members and all musical genres, the boys wish to spread their own message as far as they can push it. The band have recorded 5 demos, gaining widespread recognition for their latest ‘Welcome to Co-Pilot Ep’ including recently being named ‘Unsigned Band of the Week’ on Steve Lamacq’s Radio 1 show ‘New Music We Trust’ in addition to plays on Zane Lowe’s show on Radio 1 and plays on XFM. The band are now due to release their first limited edition single with 'KIDS' which is scheduled for September 2007, along with UK tours planned for the year. |
